How it works for Garden Designers
This site is a new site and will evolve quite a bit, but I hope to keep the following core features and build on these;

Fill in a form for each design
Why fill in a form for each design? ...Because this site matches customer's criteria to designs, it needs to know whether your design matches. While it may be rare to get a hundred percent match for most searches, it may score high against many customer requirements.
Upload design files
Designs will consist of two types of files, cover files and a detail files. The cover files are visible to everyone on this site and intended to sell your garden design to customers. The detail design files should contain the actual garden design, which is only available to people who have bought the design. I recommend submitting design files as PDF files, but I can also manually convert other formats for you.
Specify the price for each design
The price you specify is the price the customers will ultimately pay for your design (inclusive of any tax for UK). This site will retain 15 percent (or £2 whichever is the greater) of each sale as a fee, 85 percent will be credited to you.
I recommend pricing garden designs at a significantly lower price than you would for bespoke design service. Remember that the designs are aimed to be sold to several customers.
I aim to keep the site fee as low as possible. The fee will be used to cover several costs including; promotion/advertising, site improvements, costs of hosting the site, administration, and transaction charges (e.g. credit card payments).
There are no other fees or charges. Sell your designs on the web without an initial outlay.
You can also submit some free designs to show potential customers some samples of your work.
Bank your sales
Initially I will only be processing credits via PayPal. It is secure, fast, and simple. Setup your own Personal PayPal account to receive payments.
I will make other methods of paying credits available when it becomes feasible to do so.
Find new customers
This web site retains customer search criteria anonymously. This information on demand for garden designs will be made available to all designers. You can use this to target common requirements and tailor your designs to specific niches in the market.
Note: the identity and personal details of customers are withheld to protect their privacy.
Promote your services
I intend to promote this web site in the UK and eventually internationally. Submit some garden designs, write articles for the newsletter (to be launched later this year), and include links to your own web site.
If you provide a remote design service or are near enough to a potential customer, they may decide contact you directly for a bespoke design service.
I may occasionally choose to highlight a garden design on this web site or in a promotion (with your consent of course).
